The project proposes an intensive period of living and working together for composers from different countries. It explores what happens when creation becomes a shared process of listening, negotiation and mutual transformation.<\/p>\n
Artistic collaboration is often described as natural, but in practice it raises complex questions: who makes decisions, how aesthetic differences are resolved, what happens when two intuitions conflict and how far a work can develop a genuinely shared identity.<\/p>\n
Lanaken Collaborative Workshop<\/strong> uses shared living and sustained work as a setting for exploring these questions. Alongside producing a final work, it examines how composers change their processes when they open them to others.<\/p>\n Each participant brings a musical language, tools and a different understanding of composition. The research focuses on the friction and encounters between these differences: what can be relinquished, what remains, which decisions need agreement and what possibilities emerge that none of the participants would have reached alone.<\/p>\n The project approaches co-creation as a form of authorship in which ideas gradually lose their original owner and become shared material.<\/p>\n The artistic outcome will remain deliberately open until the process itself determines the form it needs to take.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The project proposes an intensive period of living and working together for composers from different countries.
