Papahuevo

Papahuevo is an orchestral tribute to the different musical patterns of Agaete’s Fiesta de la Rama. These rhythmic and festive materials become the starting point for a symphonic celebration with a strong Canarian identity, bringing collective energy, percussion and popular traditions into the orchestra. Written for Canary Islands Day, the work seeks to retain the physical and communal character of the tradition while developing it beyond literal quotation.
